The word of God teaches us that our decisions will be either wise or foolish, wisdom helps us apply spiritual insight when making our choices. Every decision we make has consequences whether good or bad. King Solomon advises us that if we know God and seek to live our lives before Him, we will be living wisely.
The world is caught up in the useless pursuits of pleasure and personal gain, which is why the recent Chrismas holidays are filled with people who are unhappy and dissatisfied. We are trying to fill our lives with things (and things have their own purpose). However you were created with a purpose, but when you’re not functioning within or out of that purpose you are dysfunctional.
As we choose our career opportunities, our work needs to have direction and meaning. Our Father wants and requires that we work, but He also wants us to enjoy work. Being faithful and thankful to Him for supplying work, and giving Him praise for wisdom in your vocation, brings glory and honor to Him, and gives you a rewarding purpose and eternal peace. Choosing to place God first in our lives in the wisest choice we can ever make. (Matt. 6:33)
